Getting your Private Pilots Licence

Hi,

I obtained my Private Pilots Licence in 1963 at Wolverhamton airport. Later when I visited the USA I obtained my US certificate and checked out on an Cessna 140 at Shirly Airport Mass.

But now if you want to  learn to fly, go to the USA as it is the most cost effective place for it.

Fly for Fun, it is one of the greatest freedoms you can have.

With a motor it is noisy and motors can fail. The answer? go gliding.


If you winch launch and the motor fails there is no reason why it will cause an accident as your training prepares you for such an eventuality. Once you are airborne life begins. Yes you have to find some lift if it is to be a long flight, but boy oh boy, when you find that first thermal or wave and find that you are actually gaining altitude in an aircraft without a motor, you discover freedom.


Try doing this in a simulator then go find a club where you can learn the real thing.

This is very realistic too.
